Pupils of Nsude Primary School gathered outdoors in green uniforms

No fence. No gate. No guard.
500 children still show up.

Our current project is Nsude Primary School in Enugu State, Nigeria. The building is almost eighty years old. The roof leaks, the walls are cracked, children sit on bare floors — and the compound has no perimeter fence, no lockable gate and no guard at the entrance. We need funds to secure these pupils now.

Why security comes first

In Nigeria, going to school has cost children their freedom

Across Nigeria, armed terrorists and bandits have abducted schoolchildren — many of them young girls — from classrooms and dormitories that had no fence, no gate and no guard. Families have waited months for children who were simply sitting in class.

The pupils of Nsude Primary School walk long, open roads to reach the gate. When they get there, nothing stands between them and the road. Their teachers have kept this school alive with almost nothing. Their parents send them anyway, because school is the only way out.

Security is not an extra. It is the first thing we owe an elementary school pupil.

Fencing & gates

A perimeter wall around the compound and gates that actually lock at the entrance.

Trained guards

Security staff at the gate through every school day, so no stranger walks in.

Safe transport

School buses so children are not walking exposed roads alone, morning and evening.

Classrooms & meals

Roofed classrooms, desks, books, uniforms and a hot meal every school day.

This is what the school looks like today

In Nigeria, going to school can cost a child everything.

At Nsude Primary School in Enugu State, more than 500 pupils learn in a building almost eighty years old. There is no perimeter fence. No gate that locks. No guard at the entrance. Children walk long, open roads to get there, and every parent in this country has watched the news and knows what has happened to schoolgirls taken from classrooms by terrorists and bandits.

Little Hands Big Dreams Foundation is fixing what can be fixed: a perimeter fence and lockable gates, trained security at the gate, safe school transport, roofed classrooms, desks, books and a hot meal each school day.

A safe school is not a luxury. It is the first thing.

SUBJECT: Help us secure a school — 500 Nigerian children, no fence, no gate

Dear friend,

I am Ozo Engineer Emmanuel Chijioke Ozoeneh, Executive Director of the Little Hands Big Dreams Foundation. I learned to read at Nsude Primary School in Enugu State, Nigeria. Decades later I walked back through that gate and found the same building, only older and more dangerous: a leaking roof, cracked walls, children sitting on bare floors — and more than 500 pupils behind no perimeter fence, no lockable gate and no guard.

You have seen the reports. Across Nigeria, schoolgirls have been abducted from their own classrooms by terrorists and bandits because those schools had no security. Children here walk long, open roads to reach class. Parents send them anyway, because school is the only way out. That courage deserves a wall that holds and a gate that locks.

The Little Hands Big Dreams Foundation is raising $250,000 to rebuild and secure the school:

- Perimeter fencing, lockable gates and trained security at the entrance
- Safe school transport so children are not exposed on the roads
- New, roofed classroom blocks to replace the 80-year-old building
- Desks and chairs, books and supplies for every pupil
- A hot meal every school day, uniforms, and support for the teachers

Every gift is tracked and reported. You can give by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer, Zelle, Cash App or check, once or monthly. A tax-deductible receipt will be issued upon IRS approval of our 501(c) status.
